Slippa

Flip-flops. The official footwear of Hawaii.
Everywhere else they're called flip-flops, sandals, or thongs. In Hawaii they're slippa, and you wear them everywhere. To the beach, to the store, to the potluck, sometimes to work. Never wear them into someone's house. Take 'em off at the door.

- Get the slippa. (A mom threat — the classic slipper as a throwable weapon.)
